mb (10 months ago): That mother is really sick. There are 2 children that will never have any independence. I think the mom is the one who does not want to let go though. Maybe she should seek some professional help. Maybe instead of encouraging them to do it she should encourage them to grow up.

Michelle (1 year ago): I think it is natural and should be encouraged. If you compare humans to other mammals in terms of overall lifespan, then children should be breast fed to around 8 - 10 years old.My wife breast feeds 4 kids. The oldest is about to turn 11. He needs a bit of encouragement but is still willing. The others at 8, 6 and 2 are very comfortable. We feed from youngest to oldest and so the 11 y.o may feel that there is not much milk left for him.
